I think Parent Connect is a complete invasion of privacy. I feel that students/children should be able to have their own life with out worrying that their parents are looking in on every single little thing that they are doing. It is good for parents on the other hand because they can keep track of their children and they can easily find out what is happening in their life's and their school life. As Nicole Dobbins explains her view in the New York Times, I Know What You Did Last Math Class, I have a view from a students perspective. If we, students, wanted our parents to know something we would tell them. If we didn't, we wouldn't. Although that may seem dumb that is what children think. Parents need to give children their freedom. These websites are too ridiculous.

Yahoo
Yahoo is one of the many heavy weights on the Internet. They are a very large corporation that many people use. Yahoo's plan for the future is to bring in "a revamped set of online services that company executives hope will help turn around Yahoo’s fortunes."
Mr. Yang, the present face of Yahoo, recently gave a speech to an audience of some 1,500 people explaining the whole plan of Yahoo's hopeful future. During Mr. Yang's speach he presented the fact that the e-mail center for Yahoo was becoming a "powerful communications hub." That means that due to technological advances e-mails from certain people with certain close connections to the reaciever will be marked with something allowing the reciever to know that the e-mail is from that specific person. Also on the horizon for Yahoo seems to be the hope that Yahoo will become a primary online database for customers, similar to facebook and google.
Despite all of the talk about the future plans of Yahoo, a big question on everyone's mind is wheather or not Mr. Yang can pull through before the other competators of Yahoo make newer advances. Mark Mahaney, an analasyst from Citigroup, said “It would have been unimaginable five years ago to think that Yahoo’s total audience would decline. It is not unimaginable now.” I guess we are just going to have to wait and see what happens with Yahoo. Will it pull through and conquer the technology world, or will it fall through due to the lack of audience?

Create
When I'm most creative when I'm listening to music in my room. There isn't really anything specifically that I use when I'm creative. It all depends on the moment. You can't force creativity it just comes to you.

Solved problems from 2007
In 2007 there were many times when something didn't come out the way that I wanted it to. I found out that many times it was because I had a type-o or there was something I forgot to put in. There is always one little thing that can make everything work differently or not work at all. That is why when making an html web page there can't be any errors. And I figured that out the hard way.

Post on 25 Days to Make a Difference
25 Days to make a difference is a website a girl named Laura made. It tells us about all of the things she is doing to make a difference in the world no matter how big or small it is. She is doing this all the way up until Christmas (hence the 25 days). There are also posts on her website from other people telling what they did to make a difference.
Laura tells all about things that she has done to make a difference for her parents, her pets, her friends, etc. One day recently she cleaned her fish bowl for her fish, Sushi. She also helped her mom make dinner one night. She has been doing things like that for the past 14 days and she says she will be doing them for the next 11 (until the 25th). I think it is really nice that she is doing these things during the holiday time and at such a young age.

Missing Child Hoax
I just read a post of a missing child named Evan Trembley. I completely believed it for a couple of minutes then I realized that it wasn't true. After a while I realized that there was no information about Evan, no information about what he was wearing when he went missing, where he was, stuff like that.
I then went to Google and typed in his name and a lot of things about him "missing" came up. I skimmed through a couple of them and I read that it was a hoax. Evan was never missing, he made it up to freak out his friends and it got sent all around the Internet. He is now what people call an accidental Internet star. After the police spoke with his mother, she reported that the police weren't going to press charges against her son.
This posting just goes to show that you can't always trust everything that you read online no matter how much you want to believe it.
