Yahoo

Yahoo is one of the many heavy weights on the Internet. They are a very large corporation that many people use. Yahoo's plan for the future is to bring in "a revamped set of online services that company executives hope will help turn around Yahoo’s fortunes."

Mr. Yang, the present face of Yahoo, recently gave a speech to an audience of some 1,500 people explaining the whole plan of Yahoo's hopeful future. During Mr. Yang's speach he presented the fact that the e-mail center for Yahoo was becoming a "powerful communications hub." That means that due to technological advances e-mails from certain people with certain close connections to the reaciever will be marked with something allowing the reciever to know that the e-mail is from that specific person. Also on the horizon for Yahoo seems to be the hope that Yahoo will become a primary online database for customers, similar to facebook and google.

Despite all of the talk about the future plans of Yahoo, a big question on everyone's mind is wheather or not Mr. Yang can pull through before the other competators of Yahoo make newer advances. Mark Mahaney, an analasyst from Citigroup, said “It would have been unimaginable five years ago to think that Yahoo’s total audience would decline. It is not unimaginable now.” I guess we are just going to have to wait and see what happens with Yahoo. Will it pull through and conquer the technology world, or will it fall through due to the lack of audience?
